Enlightenment Lodge No. 198 of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons is a regular lodge under the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Colorado Ancient Free and Accepted Masons. Enlightenment Lodge also adheres to the standards set forth by the Masonic Restoration Foundation and meets the requirements to be hailed as a Traditional Observance Lodge.
The Enlightenment concept focuses on philosophy, education, and the initiatic tradition. We follow, without deviation, the strictest observance of ritual as provided by the Grand Lodge of Colorado. The Brethren of Enlightenment Lodge No. 198 collectively agree that Masonry is a lifelong endeavor not to be rushed, not to be bought, and not to be undervalued.
We strive to bring quality educational programs to our members and visitors on a monthly basis by presenting either presentations of interest to the Masonic community, or degree work. The pursuits of our lodge are philosophical and esoteric and are treated as such. Many of our speakers are Brother Masons; however, we also utilize speakers from the profane world that are experts in their fields of study. We believe that pursuing quality education for the purpose of speculation need not be confined to education presented by members only.
We admire the workers in the quarry who have preceded us, such as Sir Francis Bacon, Jacob Boehme, W.L. Wilmshurst, Albert Pike, Albert Mackey, Carl Jung, Elias Ashmole, Henry P.H. Bromwell, Manly P. Hall, and others who, through their hard work and perseverance, improved themselves, Western Esoteric Thought (including Masonry), and their community. We strive for Enlightenment Lodge to provide a collective of thought and progression so that each member of the lodge can, in his own way, claim similar pursuits and lofty goals.
